Co-Founder And CEO, InvestiQuant
Scott Andrews is InvestiQuant’s Co-Founder and CEO. He lives in Cary, North Carolina with his wife and four daughters. Scott graduated from the United States Military Academy (West Point) and proudly served our country as an Army officer and aviator (helicopter pilot) for 5 years, including Operations Desert Storm and Desert Shield. He earned an MBA from the University of North Carolina in 1995 and subsequently co-founded SciQuest, serving as CEO and Chairman and taking the company public in 1999. The software-as-a-service spend management company traded on the NASDAQ until its recent acquisition.
Scott’s first trade was in 1991 and he started trading full time in 2004. Frustrated with the many short-comings of discretionary, chart-based trading, Scott quickly migrated to back-testing and quantifying all of his trades, prior to entry, using historical analysis. At the encouragement of fellow traders, he started posting his daily gap trades and statistical analysis online in 2007 and launched the company (Master The Gap, now InvestiQuant) in 2008. Scott is highly respected for his automated systems and systematic approach and is affectionately known by professional and retails traders around the world as “The Gap Guy.” Scott’s quantitative research and analysis has been published in most industry leading journals and sites including Futures Magazine, Active Trader, SFO, Trader Magazine, Trader Planet, Traders Library, INO, and many more. Scott has also been a popular speaker at many industry conferences, and numerous traders’ meet-up and investing groups.
When not trading or leading the company, Scott loves to take his family on adventures, watch sports, and cheer on his beloved Army-West Point sports teams.
